This month sees the rebirth of the much-loved Calvin Klein Obsession for him and for her, launched in the 1980s. Called Calvin Klein Obsessed For Women (£35 for 30ml, £50 for 50ml, £68 for 100ml) and For Men (£33 for 30ml, £45 for 75ml, £57 for 125ml), it has a modern twist and is truly capturing and compelling…
The first thing I notice is that the Obsessed bottles echo the originals, but this time they’re clear, giving no hint of how the scent will smell. It’s left to my imagination.
I’ve always been a fan of the bold and spicy aromas in Obsession for him (lavender, nutmeg and coriander) and for her (exotic spices and amber). They’re probably the most classic, sophisticated scents in town, and although they may have been around for a long time, they’ll never get old. So I’m a little cautious about trying the new ones. How can they beat the originals?
I smell Obsessed For Women first. It’s instantly zesty and spicy, as you’d expect from Calvin Klein, and the icy freshness blows up in your face. It’s deeply sensual, oozing white lavender, citrus and sage. And while it’s not the simple rose and peony floral frenzy that I’m used to, it’s SO cool – I’d go as far as to say it’s the edgiest scent of the moment.
I’d wear it as a signature scent because I’m now addicted to it – for real. It’s refreshing for every day and exotic enough for evenings out.
In Obsessed For Men, it’s the grapefruit note that hits you hard. It’s delicious and crisp, and instantly excites me… and when the vanilla and black pepper arrive – well, your world will change forever.
I reckon you guys will go wild for it – it’s certain to be a contender for your signature scent.
