SCENTS School: Introducing Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct

By Lauren Carbran

OK, so we’ve been Abercrombie & Fitch’s biggest fans since, well – forever. And now there’s a new scent on the scene. Yes, guys, preppy is the new cool this season, thanks to the launch of First Instinct. To say we adore it would be an understatement, and, with a little help from #TEAMTPS, here are a few things you need to know about it…

Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct

1. It’s all about that chemical reaction when a couple first meets

We can’t help but feel Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct was inspired by that moment of attraction when two people meet… the first glance, butterflies in the stomach and speechlessness are all encapsulated in this beaut bottle – and, of course, in the campaign image of two teenagers getting it on in a car. ‘You’ll find First Instinct addictive,’ says buyer Miranda Lang. ‘This is the first fragrance by Abercrombie & Fitch that will be available outside their stores. I expect it to have the same cult reaction as Fierce.’

2. It’s a men’s fragrance but smells great on women

Now, you know how we feel about putting labels on fragrance. If you like the smell, wear it! Well, this men’s fragrance may be for the naturally sexy guy who loves to take risks, but it also smells amazing on strong, confident women. That’s right – the sensual smell of First Instinct will make you stand out from the crowd. So grab it if you love a bit of attention (we know you do!).

3. The fragrance is perfect for the evening

The notes of First Instinct are truly delish. Top notes of gin and tonic combine with melon to smell fresh and electric. ‘These notes give it a summery twist,’ says Miranda. The heart notes of pepper (from the province of Sichuan in China) mixed with violet leaves create an addictive warmth, which is followed by the base notes of suede musks mingling with raw amber, giving you an irresistible experience from just one spritz.
