Editor top 5: exotic perfumes

By Lauren Carbran

OK, I have to admit I’m totally addicted to summer holidays: the sunbathing, happy hour, beach clothes, my freckles appearing (the list goes on…). So if you’re planning a holiday, you’ll want to know my top perfumes that will transport you to those picture-perfect locations. And guess what? Exotic scents are a major trend this summer! Hells yeah.

Michael Kors CoralMichael Kors Coral

Summer has officially arrived! Spritz Michael Kors Coral to release your inner beach babe now. The combo of lemon, orange blossom and cedarwood smell like a tropical beach resort (and take me back to my vacays in the Caribbean). OK, guys, I’ve totally met my match.

Roberto Cavalli ParadisoRoberto Cavalli Paradiso

It’s a lot easier to smell like your dream hol than you thought. Uplifting floral notes of neroli and jasmine smell sweet on your skin and will last you from buffet brekkie to happy hour. And I can’t get enough of the beachy additions of pine, wood and mandarin. Paradiso instantly reminds me of my summer antics in Cuba, where I was legit staying in paradise (location Varadero – if you want to check it out).

Escada Turquoise SummerEscada Turquoise Summer

This is a perfume to go wild for. With just the right balance of floral and fruity, Escada Turquoise Summer oozes peach, orange flower and sandalwood with musky undertones. I’ll be taking it in my poolside bag to Portugal this summer, along with a trashy novel and stack of magazines. The fact that it comes in such a beaut bottle is a bonus, too!

Jimmy Choo ExoticJimmy Choo Exotic

Jimmy Choo truly masters the art of tropical holidays in Exotic. I’m talking notes of blackcurrant sorbet, grapefruit and raspberry, which conjur up memories of waking up in a hammock in Costa Rica, smelling fresh fruit all around. And, indeed, fruity scents are giving florals a run for their money this summer. So which team are you? If, like me, you’re obsessing over exotic fruits, this one’s for you.

Issey Miyake SummerIssey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Summer

Meet the city girl’s answer to a summer fragrance when you’re vacaying in style. Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Summer transports me to my holidays in Marbs, where sunbathing and eating like a pro were always on the agenda. The combo of rose water, lychee and guava has holiday chic written all over it. Oh, and it smells super-fresh, too – ideal for those poolside days.
