1913
Mario Prada creates the Prada label with his brother, Martino, in Milan. It’s named Fratelli Prada and sells items such as beauty cases, leather bags and trunks.
1958
When Mario dies in 1958, his daughter Luisa Prada runs the company for around 20 years.
1978
Luisa’s daughter Miuccia Prada takes over the company from her mother.
1982
Prada women’s footwear is here! YES.
1984
Prada launches a black backpack made from parachute fabric. How cool!
1988
Prada takes on the Milan catwalk and showcases its first women’s collection. We love the off-the-shoulder V-neck dresses and elegant mustard coats.
2000
Prada launches its sunglasses and eyewear range. Heart, heart, heart.
2011
Prada Candy for her (£49.50 for 30ml, £66.50 for 50ml, £84 for 80ml) is Prada taking a walk on the wild side. It oozes a cocktail of musks and caramel. How sweet!
2012
Hello Prada Luna Rossa for him (£48.50 for 50ml, £66.50 for 100ml, £83 for 150ml). It smells of lavender, bitter orange and spearmint – oh, and the bottle is VERY cool and masculine.
2016
What a treat! We’re super-excited by the launch of Prada La Femme Prada for her (£49 for 35ml, £69 for 50ml, £99 for 100ml) and Prada L’Homme Prada for him (£49 for 50ml, £69 for 100ml, £84 for 150ml), which should definitely be in the running for your next signature scent. The women’s scent combines beeswax, vanilla and ylang-ylang, while the men’s is a blend of violet, iris and neroli.
2017
It’s AW17 fashion time! We love the inspiration of the contemporary woman for the collection of woolly coats, feathered skirts and furry boots. That’s bound to keep you warm this winter…
Prada Candy Gloss (£44 for 30ml, £59 for 50ml, £75 for 80ml) is here, and it’s as delicious as it looks. The smell? Sour cherry, orange blossom, almond and vanilla. Yummy!
And now for a sneak peek! Two new scents are due to arrive on the scene on 1 September 2017, and they’re intense versions of the original Prada L’Homme Prada for him and Prada La Femme Prada for her. Prada L’Homme Intense Prada (£54 for 50ml, £76 for 100ml, £92.50 for 150ml) mixes amber, iris and tonka bean, while Prada La Femme Intense Prada (£54 for 35ml, £76 for 50ml, £109 for 100ml) oozes tuberose, ylang-ylang and patchouli. How exciting!
