2017 calls for a new scent. Are we right or are we right? So we spoke to the perfume experts at #TEAMTPS and found out about the trends they predict to be BIG…

‘I think rich and robust fragrances will be extremely popular in 2017. Think gourmand fragrances like Thierry Mugler Angel Muse for her. Yum! Perfumes with sensual and warm notes such as Marc Jacobs Decadence for her will remain bestsellers, as people want a distinct smell, which makes them stand out.’

‘I predict brands will want to launch perfumes that are a little different this year. People love a good standout scent. Look out for Gucci and Paco Rabanne, which produce intense versions of your favourite scents – the bonus with these is that they’re long-lasting and great for evening wear. Fresh and floral will also be big in the female market this year, with Jimmy Choo, Chloé and YSL all launching ultra-feminine perfumes in spring.’

‘For me, 2017 will be about stronger interpretations of the classics. Perfumers liked using foody, chocolatey notes last year – and now they’re going health-conscious, with almond milk accords (Michael Kors Wonderlust for her) and fresh-air molecules (Montblanc Legend Spirit for him). Perhaps this is our health kick in a bottle? So I wonder what’s next…’
