Reviewed: Divine Decadence

By Emily Watkins

Last year saw the launch of Marc Jacobs’ first mature fragrance, Decadence, with a unique bottle and one-of-a-kind smell. Now he has released a new fragrance, Divine Decadence, a summery and sparkling twist on the original.

The bottle design catches your eye instantly: a gorgeous ‘handbag’ design with a chain strap. OK, it is quite similar to the original Decadence bottle design, which immediately drew customers into the store to admire its creative design and deep, romantic colours. But the smell of Divine Decadence is on another level: it’s strong, it’s sweet, it’s warm – and it’s perfect for any special occasion.

With its top notes of unique champagne, orange blossom and citrus, Divine Decadence creates a charming, sparkling fizz. Gardenia has been introduced in the mid notes, along with honeysuckle, which introduce a floral-sweet and fresh experience, and reminds me of a vibrant, energetic woman who’s confident in her own skin. At the base of the fragrance, the woman becomes intimate, with sweet vanilla, warm amber and deep spices. It’s as though she has three different personalities.

Divine Decadence is a fragrance for a professional, charming and passionate woman, who loves to show her fun and vibrant side. The Divine Decadence woman would wear this as a day-to-night perfume, showing she has power, strength and vibrancy during the day, and romance, intimacy and sensuality at night. She makes a statement wherever she goes.

If you like the new Ghost WhiteLight, Yves Saint Laurent Elle and Michael Kors White Gold, you’ll love the authentic scent of Divine Decadence. Head to your local The Perfume Shop to try it out and handle its glorious bottle!
