Perfume review: DKNY Nectar Love

By Lauren Carbran

As if DKNY couldn’t spoil me any more, it has now launched a perfume that smells of honey – and it’s exclusive to The Perfume Shop. DKNY Nectar Love is a little gem, so get ready for me to go a bit wild over it…

First, let’s talk about the bottle. The DKNY iconic apple is now sleek and golden, and is decorated with two little embossed graphic bees. The meaning of this? You’ll be instantly captivated by the scent, just like a bee to a flower in full bloom. And, damn right, it works.

The juice is warm and seductive, light and feminine. On me, it smells subtle and moreish. I can’t stop sniffing my wrists and complimenting myself. Honeycomb and neroli dance in the air as you spritz it, accompanied by top notes of mandarin, grapefruit and nectarine (great for all citrusy scent fans), middle notes of jasmine and orange flower for those who fancy florals this summer, and a dry down of vanilla and beeswax. Mmmm.

It’s the power of attraction in a bottle. And this is confirmed when I take it home, spray it before a day out with friends and get LOADS of ‘OMG, I totally need that!’ comments from people around me. Score!

The face of the scent is the totally gorgeous Hungarian model Vanessa Axente, who says that the woman who wears DKNY Nectar Love is ‘passionate about being the best she can be’. She’s successful but not flashy. People notice her for what’s on the inside, not what she wears.

Got a wedding in the calendar or just need a new subtle signature scent? I’d look to this. Grab it from 2 July 2017 at The Perfume Shop for £40 for 30ml, £55 for 50ml or £74 for 100ml. It’ll be selling out fast, trust me…
