Match your perfume to lipstick colour trends

By Lauren Carbran

Love a lipstick – or 10? Well, we spotted the hottest colours on the spring/summer 2016 catwalk. And you’ll want to invest in these matching perfumes to stay in the game. This, ladies, is how you smell as great as you look…

nudeFINALTrend #1: Beachy nude

Do like the models on the Diane von Furstenberg spring/summer 2016 catwalk and rock the nude lip. You can’t go wrong with an au naturel lip, espesh with a tropical flower hair clip and blue mermaid eyes. All you’ll need to match is Paco Rabanne Olympéa Aqua, a fine blend of salt crystal and vanilla, to keep you smelling lush in the pool or sea. We’re thinking about our next exotic holiday, can you tell? Just kidding – it doesn’t exist yet. Private jet, anyone?

pinkFINALTrend #2: Pretty pink

While we can’t all be Gigi Hadid (cry), we can still steal her summery look from the Tommy Hilfiger spring/summer 2016 catwalk. You just need a dab of lip balm and a baby-pink shade for the perfect pout. Couple with rosy cheeks and light coral eyeshadow to finish the look. And every girly girl needs Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Blush, too. This gorge floral number has notes of waterlily, freesia and rose, which we can assure you is always a good combo!

redFINALTrend #3: Show-stopping red

Whatever the occasion this summer, red lips are the way to stand out. We’re taking major inspo from the natural make-up and big eyebrows at the Oscar de la Renta spring/summer 2016 show, too. But while not everyone can get away with red-hot lips, Diesel Loverdose Red Kiss is a match for all. That’s right – the seductive smells of apricot and hazelnut will have you drooling! You have been warned.

plumFINALTrend #4: Statement plum

If you’re experiencing pink overkill this season, head for the plum lippy shades (as seen at the Givenchy spring/summer 2016 show). It’s a great option for summer evenings, whether you’re having dinner on the beach or in a fancy restaurant in town. Plum lipstick demands dark outfits, so bring that LBD out of the wardrobe now. And to fuel your night-time activities, match with Ghost Deep Night, of course! We’re going wild for the blend of peach and rose.

goldFINALTrend #5: Gold and bold

Meet the party girl’s answer to chic and sophisticated – gold lips! We couldn’t help but admire it at the Prada spring/summer 2016 catwalk, teamed with blue earrings and gelled-back hair. Hells yeah. What better way to brighten up your look? Cue Paco Rabanne Lady Million for the perfect match. If you love the smell of orange, this one’s for you, with its delicious notes of bitter orange, neroli and orange flower.
