1881
Guccio Gucci is born in Florence, Italy. He’s the son of an Italian merchant.
1900s
As a teenager, Gucci becomes a lift boy at London’s Savoy Hotel. He’s inspired by the elegant upper class and their luggage and travel accessories, so returns to Italy to start designing his own.
1921
He becomes well known for his leather craftsmanship and accessories, and opens his first shop in Florence.
1947
The signature Gucci leather bag is created. Mmmm, dreamy.
1953
Gucci dies and his family open Gucci stores in Paris, London, Beverly Hills, Palm Beach and Tokyo.
1999
Gucci Rush for her launches, a floral bouquet of peony, gardenia, violet and jasmine. Lush!
2007
Created for the modern woman, Gucci By Gucci for her oozes guava, pear, honey and musk for a sensual, feminine scent. We love this for everyday wear.
2011
