Editor top 5: winter scents

By Lauren Carbran

What is a winter scent? Well, for me, it’s one that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, even when it’s 1°C outside. It’s a special scent that will ALWAYS remind you of winter. Do you have one? Well, here are my signature winter scents, which I urge you to try. Warning: you’ll never want winter to end!

yves_saint_laurent_black_opium_eau_de_parfum_spray_90ml_1YSL Black Opium for her

Whatever the season, I’ll never let go of YSL Black Opium. And it’s perfect for winter. Why? Well, it has notes of black coffee and vanilla, so it’s a bottle of energy – the only perfume to spritz on before work, during work and after work. Plus, the bottle totes reminds us of Christmas. This has #winning written all over it.

michaelakorsmidnightshimmerMichael Kors Midnight Shimmer for her

This is another beautiful bottle for you perfume addicts. Michael Kors Midnight Shimmer is what I like to call my signature party scent for winter. Yep, ease your way into the prosecco season with its notes of freesia, jasmine and musk, which guarantee a good night out…

armani-si-le-parfumArmani Si Le Parfum for her

It’s new to the scene, but Armani Si Le Parfum is having a major moment this winter. And it’s all down to its divine notes of blackcurrant, vanilla and amberwood. Whatever your winter style, you’ll want to spritz this on. That’s right – those duvet days and dinner parties will seem even better with this scent because it’s a pure perfume, so it’s super-long-lasting. Welcome to the future of perfumes, people.

pacorabanne1milPaco Rabanne 1 Million for him

Anyone who knows me knows that I can’t resist the smell of Paco Rabanne 1 Million. Which is why I force my boyfriend to wear it every day (he doesn’t mind, obvs). It’s all thanks to its sparkling blood mandarin, fresh peppermint and wintry amber accord. Just writing about it makes me want to smell it – I’m well and truly obsessed.

spicebombViktor & Rolf Spicebomb for him

Spicy is always the right move for a signature winter scent. And as it’s in the name of Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb, it’s a damn good start. But just wait until you smell the cinnamon, paprika and pink pepper to make a proper judgement. It will change your life forever! Wear 24/7 for no regrets.
