We love perfume and know you do to. So here are the most common mistakes people make. You’ll be thanking us later!
1. Rubbing your wrists together after spraying a fragrance
This is probably the most common mistake and least-known-about one! Rubbing your wrists together can bruise the notes in the fragrance, which means it won’t translate as well throughout the day. Just spray onto both wrists separately and leave the fragrance to work its magic.
2. Storing perfume in direct sunlight and heated areas
If you leave perfume in direct sunlight or near a radiator, it will go off more quickly, and its smell and colour can alter. To ensure freshness, keep it in its box or, if you can’t resist showing off the gorgeous bottle, store it in a cool place.
3. Over-spraying perfume
I know what you’re thinking! We all get carried away with our new scent, spritzing it all over. But walking around in an overpowering cloud of perfume can be almost as bad as wearing none at all! A light spray on the wrists and neck, and through the hair, can mean your perfume lasts all day, with enough subtlety not be too much all at once!
