Alexandra Louise, Supervisor at The Trafford Centre Manchester
‘My best date was when me and partner Cameron had a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon and had a champagne picnic in the canyon while the sun set. It was a really special day as it was a place I had always wanted to visit.’
Anthony Deacon, CRM Data Analyst
‘It was October 2012 in Shinjuku, Tokyo. There was no snow on the ground or stars shining brightly in the sky, but it was the most special date in my life. After some searching, we eventually found the restaurant we were looking for. Despite the waiter not speaking English and us not speaking Japanese, we managed to order a plate of raw cubed beef. After a few glasses of sake I decided to eat, thinking that you should have it raw. You’ll be pleased to know that I only ate one of the raw beef cubes before we discovered the little fire pit in our table. There was lots of laughter, which I’m sure was down to my sparkling wit and not my ignorance of Japanese dining!’
Ellie Minton, social media executive
‘My best date was my first date with my boyfriend. We went to an open air cinema in London and watched Dirty Dancing and we go back every year to celebrate our anniversary!’
Lauren Carbran, Editor of SCENTS blog
‘We were in Italy and decided to have a romantic date night. I got dressed up, spending at least two hours on my hair and makeup. We strolled down to Lake Como, where we’d booked an authentic Italian restaurant for dinner, but to our surprise they were packed out and hadn’t made a note of our booking. However, it ended up being the best date ever. We grabbed a takeaway pizza from a local stand for €5, sat in a secluded flower garden overlooking the water, put on our Italian Spotify playlist and laughed for about four hours straight. Now that’s my idea of perfection.’
