Love exotic fruit? Try these top fragrances

By Jo Hoare

Now, hands up if you love exotic fruit! Yep, just the smell puts you in a full summer mood. So here are our faves and the perfumes packed with it…

Passion fruit

Sweet and exotic, passion fruit notes are warm and sensual. Go for fruity florals to prevent the scent being overpowering.
Try: Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct For Women – a mix of passion fruit with grapefruit zest for a truly fruity smell. It’s £35 for 30ml, £50 for 50ml or £68 for 100ml.

Lychee

Notes of lychee will instantly brighten your mood – trust us. The smell is sweet and addictive, and, mixed with other tropical fruits, makes for a great scent for hot nights out. Try: Lancôme La Nuit Tresor for her, which is a blend of lychee, raspberry and rose. How delicate! It’s £49 for 30ml, £69 for 50ml or £75 for 75ml.

Pineapple

Irresistibly sweet, pineapple instantly transports us to sunkissed beaches and hot, heady days. Look for scents that combine pineapple with woody notes for a masculine, sophisticated feel. Mmm…
Try: Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme Summer for him – a vibrant cocktail of pineapple, nutmeg and coriander. Yummy. It’s £43 for 125ml.

Grapefruit

The sharpest and freshest of all the tropical fruit notes, grapefruit adds a twang but clean hit to a fragrance. And did you know that the essential oil used in perfume is extracted from the peel?
Try: Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Intense Pour Homme. It actually smells like the beach, thanks to the notes of salty aquatic accord and mandarin. it’s £48 for 40ml or £82.50 for 200ml.
