Just as I was craving a little adventure, Diesel rang. Would I like to go to Paris to celebrate the launch of their new men’s fragrance, Bad? Um, yes, please!
I’d always wanted to go to Paris to see what the hype was all about. I’d been to Disneyland when I was just six years old, but you don’t really get the same vibe hanging out with Pinocchio and Donald Duck.
So on 23 June I met up with the other invitees at St Pancras International to catch the Eurostar: Oliver Proudlock (Made In Chelsea) and his girlfriend Emma Louise Connolly, bloggers Ali Gordon and Carl Cunard and the lovely girls fromDiesel Parfum UK, Laura Jearum and Charlotte Fielder.
We hung out in the Business Class lounge before making our way to the train. In under two and a half hours we were in Paris, having been served a great lunch of rabbit and quinoa, followed by chocolate mousse cake on the way.
After the short ride to our hotel, the stunning Hotel Bachaumont, we uber-ed our way to the Eiffel Tower. It was magnificent. With a few hours to spare before dinner, it only seemed right to take in the sights.
When we got back to the hotel, I quickly got dressed up for the evening and met everyone downstairs. There were six motorbikes lined up to take us to dinner and as we zoomed down the grand streets of Paris, past the Opera House and designer shops, I kept thinking to myself how beautiful Paris really is.
After an excellent dinner at Le Georges restaurant overlooking the city, our motorbike taxis arrived again – this time to take us to the party.
Everything about the Diesel Bad launch party was incredible – the fragrance-vending machine, Boyd Holbrook’s (the face of Bad) quotes scattered on the walls, Diesel Bad beer pong and a Diesel Bad Bed (for those edgy instagram moments, obvs). Even the beer bottles were branded as Diesel Bad. And it got better. Tinashe had flown over from the US to perform for us. Cool, right?
Diesel Bad is the type of scent that will drive us girls crazy. It’s inspired by that guy with the motorbike and black leather jacket that you’d find in LA (or have a poster of in your room as a teen – guilty). The leather bottle and woody smell is as daring as my amazing trip to Paris. It’s rough and masculine with notes of tobacco and caviar that will make your mouth water. If you don’t believe me, you’ll have to try it for yourself.
I, for one, will be pouring this over my boyfriend when it launches…
Diesel Bad launches on 17 August 2016.
