The fragrance experts we really trust (and so should you)…

By Lauren Carbran

When it comes to fragrance, you’ve got to know which experts to trust. Why? Fragrance is so complex and unique that only the masters of perfumery know what they’re on about. So, if you’re looking to up your fragrance knowledge or look for a new scent, here are the experts who we totally trust to help…

1. The Perfume Shop Staff

Yep, of course, the incredible The Perfume Shop staff are top of our list when it comes to expert advice. Truth be told, they’re trained to become masters at perfumery, thanks to the internal The Masters training programme, where they undergo an intense course and even devise their own scent. So they definitely know a thing or ten about perfume – plus, many of the in-store staff are The Fragrance Foundation trained. How cool? So whether you want to know how to choose a fragrance for every date or how to keep your fragrances fresh in the fridge, #TEAMTPS are always here to help.

2. Michael Edwards

Michael Edwards is an international expert and ambassador of fragrance, so basically he knows EVERYTHING about perfume. Plus, he’s been working with The Perfume Shop for 15 years, so his wealth of knowledge is right at the heart of our internal training. And just so you can understand why we trust him so much, he also developed the fragrance ‘bible’, Fragrances of the World (1984). We love his expert advice on how to update your perfume shelf for autumn and how to wear perfume in the sun.

3. Roja Dove

One of the most respected fragrance masters in the world, Roja Dove is practically the Prime Minister of Perfume. He not only creates stunning scents, but he’s also a fragrance historian and knows all there is to know about the industry. Roja’s expert advice for us varies between how to wear perfume on your wedding day to the trend of H20-inspired scents.
